Analog recordings from İstanbul with Sina Ademir

"Photography, I believe should be done with analog recordings because I believe there is spirit in analog recordings."

Tell us about yourself.

I was born in Ankara, I am from İstanbul, Turkey and I am 27 years old.

When and how did the film journey begin for you?

When I was in college in 2009, one of my best friends got me into film photography.

What type of film do you usually shoot and what made you choose it?

I like to store many kinds of film and photography chemicals in my fridge: Lucky SHD, Ilford roll films, Kodak, Agfa, some Fujichrome, Kodak T-MAX rolls, red scale, and I am ready to use color infrared films and even Kodak tri-x 8mm reversal film because sometimes I need to record with my 8mm video camera also... And also I have ammonium iron citrate and potassium ferricyanide for cyanotype print for experiments on film...

When I had an enlarger I had the chance to print the negatives myself. Now I usually shoot 35mm color negative and b&w films; the b&w film I am developing myself and scanning with the film photographers' best friend, Epson perfection v500.

What camera makes you click?

I have more than 15 cameras and Yashica FX-3 Super 2000 was my first camera and during the period I bought many cameras; also my other favorite camera is Mamiya RB67-Pro-s medium format

What lenses do you use?

I prefer shooting with one of my favorite lense, Jupiter 9 85mm.

Until now I took pictures for fun and I will continue to shoot.
