Picturesque analogs by Basia

"it's all about the light not cameras, about sense of time and the ability to give to the reality a little ethereal mood"

Tell us about yourself.

I'm 20 years old girl from Poland. I live nearby forest and sea - it's a wonderful thing for me because I love nature. I'm studying at the university and taking pictures with my digital and analogue cameras.

When and how did the film journey begin for you?

Firstly I had my digital camera but I remember that one day I went to my attic to find something. Among the old, forgotten objects I found my first analogue camera which is a Praktica MTL 5.
It was my grandfather's and then my father's camera and now I have the opportunity to use this amazing machine. I've learned everything by myself, I think that I can call myself as a self-taught.

What type of film do you usually shoot and what made you choose it?

I always shoot on fujifilm because I like the mood that it makes (and also because it doesn't cost a lot :)

What camera makes you click?

I use my Praktica mtl 5 and I'm always amazed by the pictures it takes. But I wonder about trying to take a picture with a zenit camera - maybe in the near future.
I think that it's all about the light not cameras, about sense of time and the ability to give to the reality a little ethereal mood.

Between black and white and colour film which would you choose?

Oh it's a hard question because colour film makes picture looks positive, full of energy and picturesque. But in the other hand black and white film brings our the simplicity and emotions which are also very important to me.

What lenses do you use?

I use pentacon lenses: 50mm/f1.8; 35mm/f2.4 and sometimes 135mm/f2.8

Do you make any experiments on film?

I want to try to take some pictures with double exposure so wish me good luck :)
