Wiktoria Potocka: Unnoticed shots
"I am not going anywhere without at least one camera."
Tell us about yourself.
19-year-old polish student having a gap year.
When and how did the film journey begin for you?
I started my adventure with film photography and photography at all in March 2014. I found my dad’s old camera and decided to give it a try. Now, I am not going anywhere without at least one camera.
What Could we always find in your gear bag?
Additional roll of film, dust removal tool and optic paper.
What camera makes you click?
My Canon EOS 50E is my favourite, probably because it was my first camera. I also have a few older models. The new addition to my collection is an Instax 210 wide.
Who are your models? How do you interact with them before shooting?
My friends mostly. I try to shoot people in everyday situations, so trust and comfort are essential. We talk and have fun, so they do not have to pretend and act natural.
What inspires you most?
Everyday life. I love to take photos when people do not notice me or are unprepared, the results are natural and beautiful.
Do you think you will still be shooting film in 20 years?
I hope so! There is much more satisfaction while shooting on film than digital.
