Tell us about yourself.

My name is Jeremy Pratt, and I'm a 20 year old photographer from Vancouver, Canada. I’m currently studying Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia.

How did you start shooting film?

I started practicing film photography back in September, after being lent a Fujica AZ-1 by a friend, and since then have shot using a variety of film cameras and lenses. Having only ever used a DSLR before, I found the change drastic.

In the past I’d take dozens of pictures of the same subject, only to choose a single copy to show my peers. With the machine I was using, the return was instant and the process was effortless. Film brought with it a new appreciation for photography, forcing me to work around the limitations of each camera, and teaching me more about composing a shot than any number of hours with a digital camera could’ve.
Lately, my experiments with multiple exposures have yielded surprising (but exciting) results.
